ATTENTION: This program is intended for community college students with 
no major experience in research. If you have previously participated in a
formal research program you may be overqualified for this opportunity.


DEADLINES & DATES

  • DEADLINE: October 24th at 11:59 PM PST

  • Receiving  applications: from Oct 1st to Oct 24th, 2008
  • Award Notification:  Nov 21st, 2008
  • Two-week program:  Jan 5-16, 2009


APPLICATION PACKAGE

A complete application package must include the following items:

1.  On-line Application Form. You will need the following information to complete the form: Cumulative GPA; Last GPA; Science and Math GPA; number of Science, Engineering and Math classes taken until now; list of the classes you are enrolled in for Fall 08'; FAFSA information (if applies); TAG info (if applies); 4 year institutions you will apply to transfer to.

2.  Résumé.  A few sample categories that you may want to include: Education, Professional Experience,  Lab/Technical Skills, Honors/Awards/Scholarships, Extracurricular Activities (academic, community, volunteering, etc).

3.   Personal Statement. The personal statement helps us to review your interests and to determine your motivation for applying for the internship. It should be clear and easy to read. We should be able to view a synopsis of your background (highlight relevant career, academic and civic accomplishments) and a summary of where you wish to be in the future. 4.    One letter of Recommendation. Contact your recommender in advance to request his/her support. Please download the instructions and give it to your recommender (Letter of Recommendation - Instructions). The letter will be electronically submitted (see below).

5.    A current Official Undergraduate Transcript. 


INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS


ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION OF ALL DOCUMENTS (except transcripts) IS REQUIRED

1)  To apply CLICK HERE

2)  Upload your Résumé and Personal Statement - Save the documents in separate files and upload them in the system.

3)  Letter of recommendation. Provide the name and contact information of your recommender when requested by the system. The system will automatically contact the person and he/she will upload the document. You will be notified when the letter has been uploaded.

4) Get your college to send your official transcripts to the below address. Transcripts must be received by the deadline.
